ORIENTATION SESSION HELD FOR FIRST COHORT OF THE ONE HEALTH GRADUATE PROGRAMME

The Academic Office has held an orientation session for the first cohort of the One Health Graduate Programme on Tuesday, 23rd December 2025. The engaging session was held at the Institute’s Conference Hall for newly admitted MPhil and PhD students. 

The session was opened by the Assistant Registrar, who welcomed the students and introduced senior officials of the Institute, including the Administrator, Mr. Theodore Ahuno, and the Academic Programmes Coordinator, Prof. Michael Ofori.

The Administrator, Mr. Theodore Ahuno, delivered brief remarks and welcomed the students to the Institute. This was followed by presentations from the Safety Office and Quality Management Unit on institutional safety protocols and best practices and quality assurance and compliance standards at the Institute.

Professor Michael Ofori formally welcomed the students and presented an overview of the programme structure, courses, and academic calendar, and outlined key expectations for both MPhil and PhD candidates.

The Director, Professor Dorothy Yeboah-Manu gave a hart warming welcome to the students, emphasizing the significance of the Institute hosting its own full-time students for the first time. She encouraged the students to make full use of the Institute’s research environment and to get to know the faculty, institutional processes, and fellow students.

The orientation concluded with an interactive session between students and Institute management and research scientists, majority of whom are faculty members for the programme. The Institute reaffirms its commitment to providing high-quality training, mentorship, and a research-focused learning environment and looks forward to providing holistic experience for the students
