Data Management Unit
Overview of Work
The Data Management Unit oversees the institute’s research data, ensuring its efficient and secure management. The unit actively contributes to the adherence of data management and sharing policies and procedures. It ensures periodic reviews of these policies and manages the institute’s central data repository. The Institute’s Laboratory Information System (LIS) is managed effectively to meet the need of a modern research Laboratory by adhering to standards in the clinical workflow and ensuring process control.
Manage Institute’s Research data:
- Develop data-oriented systems to meet the organization’s research needs.
- Develop data validation systems for data stored in the central repository.
- Develop systems to facilitate querying and export of data into other formats.
- Assist research scientists in study design and implementation
- Ensure that data management and data sharing policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Facilitate periodic review of data management and sharing policies and procedures.
- Make periodic reports to researchers and management on the status of the central repository.
- Support Research Scientists in biostatistical data analysis
- Liaise with the IT unit to ensure data security.
Manage Institute’s Laboratory information system (LIS)
- Develop and implement procedures for efficient system.
- Expand user base and scope of operations.
- Manage dataflow in and out of the system.
- Roll out the system to other departments.
- Make periodic reports to management on the status of the LIS.
- Streamline dataflow for harmonization.
