Security
Overview of Work
The focus of the Security unit is to protect all property and employees within the institute. The unit also supports the maintenance unit to prevent fire outbreaks and ensure the orderly conduct of staff and visitors.
Security personnel promote the safety of staff and ensure rules of conduct of the Institute and the University are obeyed.
The security unit ensured the safety of staff by arresting and handing over some unscrupulous individuals caught disobeying the national and Institute laws.
Support to Research
Visitors are directed by the personnel at the security unit, who are the first point of contact. The staff ensure that all protocols are strictly adhered to, before visitors and staff are granted entry into the Institute.
The security also supervises and assist visitors with research samples, by ensuring they complete necessary forms, and see to the collection of samples at the appropriate points of collection.
Sample rooms are monitored and guarded by staff of the security unit to prevent unauthorized persons from gaining access to the rooms
