Overview of Work
The Transport Unit is responsible for managing the Institute’s vehicle fleet which includes, advising management on the state of vehicles, and supervising drivers and mechanics to ensure a smooth delivery of services to support research and training.
The Unit has a variety of vehicles from which to choose for field trips across the country.
The Unit has a maintenance work schedule that it adheres to in order to maintain the Institute’s vehicles to ensure the safety of drivers and officers who use them.
Support to Research and General Institute Work
- The Unit provides transport services to staff to purchase various equipment for both administrative and research work
- Distributes Institute mail to appropriate recipients
- Transporting researchers across the country to conduct their work
