The Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) joined several exhibitors to participate in a two-day exhibition dubbed the 7th Industry-Academia Interaction Series under the theme “Sustainable Energy Transitions and Climate Change: The Role of Partnerships”.
The event was organized by the Institute of Applied Science and Technology (IAST) under the College of Basic and Applied Sciences, University of Ghana. It was held at the Samuel Kenneth Aboah Recreational Quadrangle from May 16 −17, 2024, aimed at providing an excellent opportunity for researchers, businesses, and students to showcase products, services, and innovations to the University community.
The event, which provided a platform for participants from academia and industry to reflect on how science and technology can be used to aid Ghana’s and Africa’s development, also exposed them to a plethora of innovative ideas as well as fostering interactions between industry, researchers, and students.
In line with that, the Institute mounted exhibition stands to educate the public
The NMIMR team also seized the opportunity to conduct free malaria screening, HIV testing, Body Mass Index, COVID-19 testing, hepatitis, HB vaccination, blood group and sickle cell genotype tests for staff, students, and other exhibitors.
Filled with excitement and enthusiasm, students, staff, and participants expressed their appreciation to the Institute for participating in the exhibition.
