The MPhil in One Health is a two‑year, full‑time programme that prepares professionals to address emerging and re‑emerging health challenges at the human–animal–environment interface. The programme blends coursework, laboratory training, field activities, and a supervised thesis conducted through NMIMR’s world‑class facilities.

The PhD in One Health is a research‑intensive doctoral programme that equips fellows to address health challenges at the human–animal–environment interface through interdisciplinary training and mentorship across NMIMR’s scientific units.
The programme combines advanced coursework with original research. Students take core and elective courses in areas including:

Fellows conduct high‑quality research using NMIMR’s internationally recognized laboratories and field platforms. Training emphasizes:

• Communication, teamwork, and leadership
Applicants must have:
• A Master’s degree (MPhil/MSc) in a relevant discipline, such as:
– Biological Sciences
– Biomedical Sciences
– Agricultural Sciences
– Environmental Sciences
– Medical Laboratory Sciences
– Veterinary Medicine
– Human Medicine
– Other related science/health fields
• A strong academic background and evidence of research experience
• May be invited for an interview during the selection process

To graduate, a candidate must:
• Complete required coursework (18–24 credits)
• Present four (4) seminars
• Pass a comprehensive examination
• Conduct original research and submit a doctoral thesis
• Successfully defend the thesis (oral examination)
• Fulfil all School of Graduate Studies regulations
