The Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR), University of Ghana, invites applications from exceptional and research-driven candidates for admission into the MPhil and PhD in One Health for the 2026/2027 Academic Year.
The One Health Programme offers advanced interdisciplinary training in the convergence of human, animal, and environmental health. The programme addresses pressing global challenges, including emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, climate-related health risks, food systems resilience, and ecosystem health.
Through practical coursework, collaborative research, and field-based engagements, students develop strong analytical, methodological, and leadership competencies required for high-impact careers in academia, research institutes, international organizations, public health agencies, and policy environments worldwide.

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
MPhil One Health Programme
- A good first degree, preferably Second Class Lower or better (or a final grade point average of at least 2.0), in relevant fields such as Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences/Technology, Veterinary Medicine, Human Medicine, Social Sciences, or other relevant science-related disciplines from the University of Ghana or any recognized/accredited university.
- Applicants with Third Class may be considered based on work experience and/or other qualifications.
PhD One Health Programme
- A relevant Masters degree (MPhil/MSc) in Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, Human Medicine, One Health, or other relevant science-related subjects from the University of Ghana or any recognized/accredited university.
NOTE: Applicants may be required to take and pass an entrance examination and/or interview.
