Overview of Work
The Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research’s Administrative Unit oversees all administrative matters pertaining to the institution. The unit’s primary duty is to ensure all departments and units of the institute operate well and are coordinated.
It serves as the main custodian of the institute’s records and ensures that staff are fully aware of their obligations and comply with the University’s policies and procedures.
Support to Research and General Institute Work
Below are some of the essential services provided by the Administration Unit in support to Research;
- Ensures the Institute operates securely and effectively and provides the right environment that fosters the growth of staff
- Coordinates human resource support to the sustainable growth and continuous improvement of the Institute
- Manages internal and external communications
- Designs work processes and ensure staff compliance with due process
- Oversees publicity and marketing for the Institute and its activities.
- Maintains the Institute’s strong relationships with its external partners and internal cross-functional teams and departments
- Coordinates the capacity strengthening of all administrative staff to innovatively execute their responsibilities
- Utilizes technology to maintain staff records and help audit activities by making accessible necessary administrative documents
- Coordinates external evaluation exercises
The unit has so far succeeded in successfully planning and carrying out significant management-organized activities with a focus on fulfilling the Institute’s desired mandate within the University’s overall mission.
