ICT Unit
Overview of Work
The IT unit provides ICT services to support research and management in the institute. The unit provides general hardware and software support. The institute’s datacenter doubles as the Disaster Recover (DR) site for the University of Ghana Computing Systems (UGCS), and the University of Ghana Medical Centre.
Support to Research and General Institute Work
Services provided by the unit include:-
- Institutional email,
- Internet connectivity,
- Training of users in the use of various productivity and virtual meeting tools,
- Management of servers for various projects and laboratory services,
- Data management support to projects,
- Ensuring a secure working environment through the deployment of access-restricted doors to facilities and laboratories, and the deployment of CCTV cameras at selected locations.
