Organizers and Volunteers of the VHOP Seminar 2025

In a heartfelt moment of gratitude and celebration, the NMIMR VHOP Team recently hosted a special seminar marking five years of undertaking their community viral Hepatitis testing and vaccination activities. The

occasion was also used to acknowledge the unwavering support of our key sponsors in conducting public education and free medical screening activities. The event, held on July 18, 2025 at the NMIMR Conference Hall, brought together partners, stakeholders and community members to recognize the instrumental role our sponsors have played in advancing our mission.

Over the past five years, these sponsors have contributed not only financially but also shared value and a vision for sustainable impact. During the seminar, representatives from University of Ghana Enterprise Limited

(UGEL), Crescent Chemist Ltd, MDS Lancet Laboratories, AngloGold Ashanti, West African Centre for Cell and Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP), The Ghana Chamber of Mines, East Cantonments Pharmacy, Newmont Ghana Ltd, Inqaba biotech, Special Ice Ltd, The Okyeame Kwame Foundation, Bethel logistics Ltd, Labmart Ltd, MES Equipment Ltd, Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU-3) were presented with plaques of appreciation and were applauded for their continued commitment to our work. A plaque was also presented to Mr. Baidoo of the Ghana Education Service, La-Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Directorate, for his consist support for our Junior High School education and awareness activities over the years.

The seminar, which was chaired by the Viral Hepatitis Control Programme manager, Dr. Godwin Atsu Seake- Kwawu, featured keynote presentation from Dr. Yvonne Nartey on the clinical aspects of viral Hepatitis management and Prof. Charles Ampong Adjei on viral Hepatitis research and awareness. Prof. Kwadwo Asamoah Kusi, co-chair of VHOP, presented VHOP’s achievements over the last five years, made possible through the sponsorship and the outlook for the next years ahead. Attendees left inspired and energized for the future of fighting viral Hepatitis.

As we look ahead, this moment of reflection and recognition reaffirms the strength that comes from collaboration and partnership. We extend our deepest thanks to all our sponsors over the last five years of trust and shared progress.
